Memorial Day Weekend
We made the trip to the Outerbanks for Memorial Day...there was Charlie, me & Fitch, the Sasses, and the Schlosser's we had a great weekend, some of us got a little toasty (Sunburned)we took lots of photos, we caught the sunset from the top of Pennys Hill, and ate lots of good food and of course we rode the ATV's and took tons of photos. The tree Stumps that Sydney, Chris and Sam are posing on are almost never exposed, but we had several really bad storms this spring which caused quite alot of beach erosion if the weather stays good this summer they will probably be covered again by the end of the summer season.

Retirement Ceremony
About a month or so ago I was asked to be the photographer for a Retirement Ceremony for a good friend of ours, it was held aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin, which took place yesterday, it was wonderful and very inspiring and made me feel extremely proud to be living in my adopted country, I really enjoyed it, the weather was beautiful and we ended up with 703 excellent photos, which obviously I cannot post here, so here are a few of my favourites. A wonderful day doing what I enjoy the most, taking photos of the great events in people's lives

This & That Saturday
On Saturday we decided to plant a garden, I had wanted to do container gardening and had picked up some tomatoes etc to grow in pots, but it ended up being a full blown garden! Clarence came over and tilled up a section for us and we spent the remainder of the day raking, fertilizing and planting. Chris and Kandice came by with Isabella, they wanted some pavers for their garden and I got some time in to play with my new camera.

Eastern Shore
Yesterday, Charlie & I took the day off and visited the Eastern Shore, we do this not nearly often enough, it gives us time together without the pressures of everyday living, it was a wonderful day the weather was about as perfect as it gets and we drove all the way down to Chincoteague Island where we spent about an hour refreshing our bodies and spirit on the beach, the great thing about going down on a weekday and out of season is that we had the place almost to ourselves...it was great! We hiked a couple of the trails at the state park, one was to the lighthouse, the rest I think you can figure out from the photos. we had a dinner/lunch combination on the waterfront, Charlie had oysters and I opted for the fish & chips. Wonderful day! Sadly the thing about going in the off season was that my favourite shopping places were closed like the "Purple Pony" and the antique stores, oh well a good excuse to take another day off.

It seems like such a good way to share photos with family. So I will be adding more, so check back often and please fill free to leave your comments.

Botanical Gardens
Its Spring & I just had to go to Botanical Gardens and take photos of the roses. My friend Grace came along with me and we had a great time exploring the gardens, I think the roses & the Japanise garden was my favourite. To see all of my pictures click on the "Moms Photos"link to the right. After the gardens we met Grace's daughter, Sydney for lunch at the local Sushi Bar, what a great way to end a perfect day.
